Sound doctrine is very important, and knowing it should be a priority for every Christian. Jesus Himself placed great emphasis on doctrine, as did the writers of the New Testament. Doctrine defines who we are by what we believe.
The new believer must learn doctrine; this was the emphasis of those who had recently been saved in the early church:
Acts 2:42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
We believe that the 66 books of the Old Testament are verbally inspired by GOD and have been preserved in the Spanish language through the Reina-Valera 1960 version, which is the supreme and final authority for faith and practice.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.
2 Peter 1:19-21 We also have the more sure prophetic word, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of private interpretation.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, equal in essence yet distinct in personality and function.
Exodus 20:2-3 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.
Matthew 28:18 Jesus said: All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
1 Corinthians 8:6 For us, however, there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we are for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we through Him.
We believe in the direct creation of the universe by God, according to the Genesis account, without the use of preexisting material and apart from any process of evolution.
Genesis 1:1-31 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth...
Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
Colossians 1:16-17 For by Him all things were created, those in heaven and those on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
Hebrews 11:13 These all died in faith without having received the promises, but having seen them from afar, and believing and embracing them, and confessing that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Savior of mankind. We believe that Jesus Christ is eternally God and possesses all the attributes of Deity. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was born of a virgin through a miracle of the Holy Spirit, that He is God incarnate, and that the purpose of the incarnation was to reveal God, redeem mankind, and reign over the kingdom of God. We believe that Jesus Christ never surrendered any of the attributes of His Deity, but simply withheld their use. We believe that He lived a perfect, sinless life and at the end of it offered Himself for mankind as a substitutionary sacrifice for man’s sins. This sacrifice was the just payment to God for the forgiveness of sin. This forgiveness was secured through His death by the shedding of His blood on the Cross and was accepted by God following His resurrection.
John 1:1-14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made...
Luke 1:35 The angel answered that the Holy Spirit would come upon her and the power of the Most High would overshadow her; therefore the holy child would be called the Son of God.
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: a virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Galatians 4:4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman and born under the law,
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died as a substitutionary sacrifice for all people. The blood atonement He accomplished was unlimited in its potential. It is limited only in its application, effectively saving those who are brought by the Holy Spirit to repentance and faith.
Isaiah 53:4-11 Surely He bore our sicknesses and carried our sorrows; yet we regarded Him as stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted...
2 Corinthians 5:14-21 ...He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
1 John 2:1-2 My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin; and if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
2 Peter 2:1 There were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.
1 Timothy 4:10 For this reason we labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of our crucified Lord, in His ascension to heaven, and in His present life there as High Priest and Advocate. We believe that He ascended to heaven after His resurrection to sit at the right hand of the Father, awaiting the time to receive His church in the Rapture and, after seven years, return to earth to rule and direct His Kingdom for 1,000 years.
Matthew 28:1-7 ...He is not here, for He has risen, as He said...
Acts 1:8-11 ...This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same manner as you saw Him go into heaven.
1 Corinthians 15:4-9 And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures;...
Hebrews 4:14-16 Therefore, since we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who was tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
